The 4th edition of the Marrick MTB Challenge race will once again be held on the scenic Marrick Safari Game Farm near Kimberley.

What we offer is luxury guest house accommodation, all meals, game views daily as all routes are on game farms. You also get endless kilometres of single track thrown in for free.

The Marrick MTB Challenge is basically a stage race for teams of two, individual stage racers are catered for but do not qualify for Overall race winners prizes, only category prizes..

In 2013 entrants will be able to enjoy riding through the magnificent, challenging and varied scenery of the Northern Cape. All three stages of the 2013 event will be designed for the enjoyment of the riders in mind as well as routes with more single track than last year, even though we had more than 40 kms of single track in the 2012 event.

MARRICK GAME FARM

The Northern Cape is about wide-open spaces and offering the MTBiker a very different experience of the South African landscape. Many riders under estimate the difficulty of the terrain and are lulled into a false sense of security by the apperent "flatness" of the area. Routes are challenging and yet remain fun and enjoyable for all levels of riders.

This province boasts a colourful history and a variety of cultural tourist attractions. It is particularly well known for its incredible annual floral display that takes place in Namaqualand during August and September.

Mountain biking in the Northern Cape is fun because of the wide variety of terrain which is available, This terrain is influenced by weather factors, temperature, time of year, natural elements and hazards. It is a new experience with every ride.

At Marrick Safari Game Farm we offer excellent plains and bushveld game on more than 100 000 hectares of land near the diamond city of Kimberley, approximately 480 km (300 miles) south west of Johannesburg. Marrick Game Ranch is our base camp, situated only 15 minutes from Kimberley airport and covers 3000 hectares populated by indigenous game. The entire area is natural with a large open pan surrounded by savannah thornveldt , bush and plains.

This is still the real Africa. Not just an event, but an experience!
