The second edition of the Marrick MTB Challenge race will be held on the scenic Marrick Safari Game Farm near Kimberley from the 23rd - 26 th September 2010. 4 Stages - 4 Days - 348 kms!

The Marrick MTB Challenge is a stage race for teams of two or individual stage racers.

In 2010 lucky entrants from across the country will find themselves riding through the magnificent, challenging and varied scenery of the Northern Cape.

The Northern Cape is about wide-open spaces and offering the MTBiker a very different experience of the South African landscape. This province boasts a colourful history and a variety of cultural tourist attractions and is particularly well known for its incredible annual floral display that takes place in Namaqualand during August and September.

Mountain biking in the Northern Cape is fun because of the wide variety of terrain which is available, This terrain is influenced by weather factors, temperature, time of year, natural elements and hazards. It is a new experience with every ride.

The Marrick MTB Challenge covers 348 kms of challenging terrain and riders will catch views of various game species, including Giraffe, Zebra, Gemsbok, Springbuck, Wildebeest and Waterbuck before they reach the tranquillity of the Marrick Safari Lodge finish.

At Marrick Safari Game Farm we offer excellent plains and bushveld game on more than 100 000 hectares of land near the diamond city of Kimberley, approximately 480 km (300 miles) south west of Johannesburg.  Marrick Game Ranch is our base camp, situated only 15 minutes from Kimberley airport and covers 3000 hectares populated by indigenous game. The entire area is natural with a large open pan surrounded by savannah thornveldt , bush and plains.

This is still the real Africa. Not just an event, but an experience.
